Main purpose

Centralising statistical data on external financial assets and liabilities such as financial loans, deposits, trade receivables and payables, derivatives, as well as other financial assets and liabilities other than foreign direct investment and portfolio investment.

Methodology

The IFRN survey is performed on a quarterly basis, with data being reported in the month following the reference quarter. The reporting entities are selected on the basis of statistical representativeness. The sample of the IFRN survey is updated annually.
