Numismatic issue: NBR launches a silver medal dedicated to the Hunting Museum in Posada

On the occasion of the events dedicated to the Hunting Museum in Posada and in order to promote this institution, house to many collections that were awarded prizes at both national and international exhibitions, as well as hunting trophies with world record status, as from 1 June 2007, the National Bank of Romania launches a silver medal dedicated to the Hunting Museum in Posada.

Characteristics of the silver medal:

  • shape: round;
  • diameter: 30 mm;
  • fineness: 999/1000;
  • weight: 15.55 g;
  • quality: proof; and
  • edge: milled.

Obverse: in the middle, the Roman goddess of hunting, Diana, on the left side the logo of the Hunting Museum in Posada and the year "1996" and on the outer ring the inscription "MUZEUL CINEGETIC POSADA".

Reverse: in the middle, a frosted shield and overlapping it, a deer head on the upper side, two trees on the left side and a trout on the right side. Engraved on the outer ring are the inscriptions "2007" on the upper side and "RNP - ROMSILVA" on the left side and "AGVPS ROMANIA" on the right side.

The medals come in transparent plastic capsules, along with leaflets describing the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French. Each leaflet includes two pages representing the authentication certificate, bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Head Cashier of the National Bank of Romania. The medals will be sold in appropriate cases bearing the NBR logo - BNR - on the lid.

The issue of 500 coins is to be sold at a price of RON 104 per medal (VAT excluded), which does not include the cost of the case.

The National Bank of Romania branches in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara are in charge of putting into circulation, for numismatic purposes, the silver medals dedicated to the Hunting Museum in Posada.
