Numismatic issue - a silver coin dedicated to the wooden church in Ieud-Deal in the series of numismatic issues titled "Christian Feudal Art Monuments"

In compliance with the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 - The Statute of the National Bank of Romania, the National Bank of Romania will launch, starting with 24 July 2006, a silver coin with face value of 5 lei, dedicated to the wooden church in Ieud-Deal in the series of numismatic issues titled "Christian Feudal Art Monuments".

Characteristics of the coin:

  • face value: 5 lei;
  • metal: silver;
  • shape: round;
  • fineness: 999/1,000;
  • quality: proof;
  • weight: 31.103 grams;
  • diameter: 37 mm;
  • edge: smooth.

Obverse: in the upper half, a fragment of the interior mural painting of Ieud church, showing the figures of patriarchs Isaac, Abraham and Jacob, and in the lower half, Romania's coat of arms, the inscription "ROMANIA", face value 5 LEI and year of issue 2006.

Reverse: in the middle, the front view of Ieud church against a frosted background, outlining the image of the church. Against this background, the texts "MONUMENTE DE ARTA FEUDALA CRESTINA" and "BISERICA DE LEMN IEUD DEAL" are inscribed on the left side and the right side respectively.

Each silver coin is embedded in a transparent plastic capsule and is accompanied by an authentication certificate (in Romanian and English) bearing the signature of both the Governor and the Head Cashier, as well as by a leaflet.

The silver coins dedicated to the church in Ieud-Deal in the series of numismatic issues titled "Christian Feudal Art Monuments" are legal tender in Romania.

The coins in the issue "Christian Feudal Art Monuments" will be put into circulation through the branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi, and Timişoara.
