Press notice of the International Monetary Fund Office of the Residend Representative in Romania

An IMF mission will visit Bucharest during January 25 – February 07, 2006 for discussions under Article IV consultations. According to Article IV of Articles of Agreement, the Fund conducts regular consultations with every member state, assessing the overall macroeconomic situation.
The mission will meet representatives of labor unions, industry, banks, academics, parliamentarians, and opposition politicians. At the end of its visit, the mission will hold a press briefing.
Upon the consent of the Romanian authorities, the staff report will be published.
