Press release regarding the authorization of the BLIK ROMANIA instant payment system

The NBR Board authorised on 1 October 2024 the operation in Romania of the BLIK ROMANIA instant payment system. It will be administered and operated by BLIK ROMANIA S.A. and will ensure the settlement of e-commerce payment transactions up to lei 50,000.
The National Bank of Romania will monitor the BLIK ROMANIA system on an ongoing basis, so as to ensure the smooth functioning of payment systems in Romania, as well as to safeguard financial stability.
