Should a numismatic issue fall short of the sets intended for online reservation, please be informed that items may be purchased directly from the counters of the NBR’s regional branches, without reservation, starting 15 July 2024.
As of 15 July 2024, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a mint set dedicated to the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
The mint set comprises the Romanian coins in circulation of ban 1, bani 5, bani 10, bani 50 and a silver medal, all items in proof-like quality.

Obverse: the Olympic torch, a group of ancient Olympic runners in the background and the inscription “JOCURILE OLIMPICE DE VARA 2024” in an arc.
Reverse: the portrait and name of George Gh. Bibescu, the first Romanian member of the International Olympic Committee.
The mint set comes as a folder in a case, with the minted items being inserted in special slots.
The maximum mintage of this numismatic issue is 5,000 sets.
The selling price of the mint set is lei 400.00, VAT excluded.
The mint sets dedicated to the 2024 Summer Olympic Games are put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iași and Timișoara.
