As of 5 June 2024, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin to mark 100 years since Romania gained the first Olympic medal.

Obverse: an image of the diploma awarded to the rugby squad members in 1924, after Romania won the first Olympic medal at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the face value “10 LEI”, the coat of arms of Romania and the year of issue “2024”.
Reverse: a composition featuring a rugby ball, Romania’s rugby squad in 1924, as well as the inscriptions “PRIMA MEDALIE OLIMPICA A ROMANIEI - 1924” and “100 DE ANI”.
The silver coins are housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue and certificates of authenticity in Romanian, English and French. The certificates of authenticity bear the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The maximum mintage is 5,000 silver coins.
The selling price for the silver coin, including the leaflet and the certificate of authenticity, is lei 500.00, VAT excluded.
The silver coins to mark 100 years since Romania gained the first Olympic medal are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The coins are put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iași and Timișoara.
