Numismatic issues dedicated to 125 years since the birth of Tudor Vianu

Should a numismatic issue fall short of the coins intended for online reservation, please be informed that items may be purchased directly from the counters of the NBR’s regional branches, without reservation, starting July 18.


Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 18 July 2022, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin to mark 125 years since the birth of Tudor Vianu.

The coins have the following characteristics:

Revers

Obverse: the edifice housing the Faculty of Letters of the University of Bucharest, the inscription “ROMANIA” in an arc, the coat of arms of Romania, the face value “10 LEI” and the year of issue “2022”.

Reverse: the portrait, partially superimposed on two books, the signature and name of Tudor Vianu and the inscription “125 DE ANI DE LA NASTERE”.

The silver coins, housed in transparent plastic capsules, will be accompanied by certificates of authenticity bearing the signatures of the NBR Governor and the Chief Cashier, in Romanian, English and French.

The maximum mintage of this numismatic issue is 5,000 silver coins.

The selling price for the silver coin, including the certificate of authenticity, is lei 450.00, VAT excluded.

The silver coins dedicated to 125 years since the birth of Tudor Vianu are legal tender on the territory of Romania.

The silver coins will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iaşi and Timişoara.
