Press release - The new NBR website

The NBR has launched today its new website http://www.bnro.ro/
As a key communication tool seeking to ensure transparency, the new NBR website aims to fast informing users: general public, mass media, specialists. Moreover, it provides a new design, content, structure of information and functionalities. The most significant changes include:
- The key area of the homepage displays the frequently accessed as well as the most relevant information for the central bank's activity: the NBR interest rates, inflation target and current inflation rate and the exchange rate of the leu currency.
- Its new functionalities ensure an easy on-line access to information: automatic news notification via e-mail or RSS; statistical data in CSV, Excel, XML, HTML formats (see Statistics - Interactive database); an advance release calendar for both statistical data and press releases as well as for other events; glossary and search engine.
- As regards its content, new domains have been introduced (payment systems, financial stability, statistical interactive database) while the old sections have been restructured, upgraded and extended.
The old version of the NBR website is available through a link from the new website's homepage and will be daily updated for a limited period of time. Today's launch is just a stage of the NBR website development. It is to be continuously amended and updated to meet the ongoing changes of the standards in the area as well as the users' demands.
