Pursuant to the provisions of Law No 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 12 December 2016, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin dedicated to the anniversary of 150 years since the birth of George Coșbuc.
The coin has the following technical characteristics:

- Edge: milled
Obverse: a composition inspired by George Coşbuc’s poetic universe, the year of issue “2016”, the coat of arms of Romania, the inscription “ROMANIA”, and the face value “10 LEI”.
Reverse: the portrait and signature of George Coşbuc, an image illustrating his poem, Iarna pe uliță, and the birth year of the poet “1866”.
The silver coins are individually housed in transparent plastic capsules. They are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French. Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The mintage of this issue is 200 silver coins.
The selling price is lei 360.00, VAT excluded, per silver coin, including the leaflet.
The silver coins dedicated to the anniversary of 150 years since the birth of George Coșbuc are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The silver coins will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara.
