Session 2 - Accountability and transparency as core drivers for effective financial supervision

  • Mr Boris Vujčić (Governor, Croatian National Bank)

  • Issues to be discussed:
    What are the core drivers for effective supervision? Can accountability and transparency help supervisors to strengthen their willingness to act and to deliver sound supervisory outcomes? Could it also help counter institutional capture (i.e., supervisors being too close to the institutions they supervise)? Does this work in the same way in financially advanced economies and emerging economies, or are there differences?


Session 3 - The importance of board effectiveness – for banks and central banks
